When you make your own AI girlfriend, the first ten minutes are spent deciding things: how warm, how sharp, how quick to tease. By the time she says hello you have already invested something, and that changes how the conversation feels.
Browsing works the other way round. You skim faces, pick the least wrong one, and spend the first ten minutes finding out whether her defaults suit you. Often they do not, and there is nothing to adjust.
The builder removes that step entirely. Her defaults are your settings, so the first message already sounds like the person you had in mind rather than a template you have to talk around.
